ABOUT DIMH

Helping People

Rebuild Their Lives

For more than 18 years, Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing has brought people and community together to help individuals and families move beyond homelessness toward stability, independence, and sustainable housing.

WHO WE ARE

A Place to Begin Again

Homelessness is rarely solved by a bed alone. At Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing, we provide more than a safe place to stay. We walk alongside individuals and families as they work toward greater stability and independence.

Through personalized case management and connections to healthcare, employment, financial resources, housing assistance, and continued follow-up, each guest receives support designed around their individual needs and goals.

The goal is not simply to provide temporary shelter, it is to help create a foundation for lasting stability

Brighter Tomorrow

OUR STORY

A Community That Chose to Respond

Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing began with a simple but powerful belief: when a community comes together, lives can change.

For more than three decades, people of faith, community leaders, volunteers, donors, and local partners have joined together to respond to homelessness in the Dover community with compassion and action.

What began as an effort to provide safe shelter has grown into a more comprehensive approach to helping people move forward. As the needs of the community have changed, DIMH has continued to evolve—expanding its support to address the many factors that contribute to long-term stability, including healthcare, employment, financial well-being, and permanent housing.

Today, DIMH continues that legacy by walking alongside individuals and families as they work toward stability, independence, and a place to call home.

OUR APPROACH

Every Person's Path Forward Looks Different

We meet people where they are and provide the support they need to move toward lasting stability

Person-Centered

Every guest has a unique story, circumstance, and set of needs.

Dignity & Compassion

People are treated as individuals, not defined by homelessness.

Structure & Accountability

Compassion is paired with goal-setting and support that helps guests move forward.

Whole-Person Support

Housing stability can involve health, employment, finances, relationships, transportation and more.

ROOTED IN COMMUNITY

It Takes a Community to
Create Lasting Change.

As an interfaith organization, DIMH is built on the power of people coming together across faiths, backgrounds, and professions to serve our neighbors. Our work is made possible through churches, volunteers, healthcare providers, employers, donors, and community partners who share a commitment to seeing lives transformed.
